Tennis Update

Hello Members

As our county sees its Covid numbers go up quite a bit, tennis still seems like the best option for fun social distant sport. It's nice to see a lot of you using our courts whether it's against the unbeatable ball machine, a friend or family members. With the county moving to a "watch list" status a lot of you have inquire if we are still open. YES WE ARE! And tennis is busier than ever, the weather is perfect for it and our courts are waiting for you to jump on them and play.

Weather this summer has been fantastic for tennis and I will take this opportunity to remind you of a few things to bring to the courts;

  • Hand sanitizer (club has some throughout the club but some of you prefer having your own)
  • Sunscreen, Sunscreen, Sunscreen
  • No water fountain available… Bring a huge jug of water.
  • No towel at club at the moment. Bring our own!

I know most of you have these readily available at all time but last week someone was looking for water and gave me "that look" when I told them they had to go up the stairs to get some. So I just thought I would give a nice little reminder.

Talking about reminder, a few of you have reminded me about our weekly clinics. Between our very busy summer camps, lower availability from our pros and this pandemic, we struggled bringing you the best Covid tennis experience possible. We apologize. We are currently looking at adding to our team of pros and adding a few programs at the club. We would love to hear your input on what you would like to see. In the meantime, here's what we are working on; Singles and doubles ladder, Intramural league for all levels, better options for beginner players and bringing back some of our weekly clinics. And that's just for adult tennis. For our junior players, we are working on programming that will cater to any school model your child is attending in the hopes of helping the parents with some sanity in these crazy times and offering your young ones a chance to move a little more. If you would like to create your own tennis pod with a few juniors, contact us and we can figure out details.

We sure hope that tennis has helped you get some exercise, stress out and bring some balance to your life during this pandemic. We are always here to help you with nay tennis needs you might have so don't be a stranger reach out, even if just for a little hello on the courts.

See you all on the courts
Cheers
Fred
