Hot Tub Construction Update

We are anxiously awaiting the completion of our brand new large family hot tub. We are in the final stages of construction however the project has been delayed due to supply issues.

We are hopeful that the work will begin again soon and the hot tub ready for everyone in August!

Group Fitness Class Etiquette

Our Group Exercise instructors work hard to provide our members with top quality instruction. Please respect them and their time by:

  • Arriving to class on time
  • Turning off your cell phones
  • Taking or making all calls outside
  • Refraining from personal conversations during class
  • Using the water bottle refill station outside, if not attending the class in session

 

Pool Guards

imgPool Guards Summer Camp introduces children to the skills necessary for Lifeguarding and aquatic safety. Two week sessions offer activities such as swim workout and skills building, rescue skill practice, paddle board practice, stretching and strength building exercises with team building games and fun. Pool Guards is a great opportunity to advance your water safety skills and become a better swimmer for life.

Intro to Diving

La Madrona Intro to Diving is back!! This swim class will teach children the fundamental skills necessary to be successful in the sport of diving. This is a great opportunity for kids to learn to dive in a pool safely and with confidence. The class will be 45 minutes in length and will meet once a week. This six-week program will build upon skills each week in a fun and safe manner. Kids will learn the proper arm patterns, body positions, and entry technique that Olympic divers use.

This class will be taught by Santa Cruz native and 2008 Olympian Ariel Rittenhouse.

Fall Swim Team

The La Madrona Fall Swim Team starts on Monday August 15th. Fall Swim Team will be offered in two 6-week sessions. The swim team is a pre-competitive team. The team practices focus on being fun while getting swimmers comfortable being in a lap pool and working with stroke development, technique and endurance. We also expand on swim team knowledge. Ages 5.5-14 years old are welcome. All swimmers must be able to swim one length of the lap pool and be able to float on their back, an assessment may be needed.

Early Fall August 14th-September 21st (6 weeks) - no class on September 4th
Late Fall September 25th-November 2nd (6 weeks)

Participants are welcome to register for both sessions. Registration opens for members on July 17th through your member account, and non-member on July 24th in person, email or phone call. Afterwards registrations can be taken directly by the Aquatics Direct at 831-438-1072 ex 104 or [email protected].

 

Intro to Swim Team

La Madrona Intro to Swim Team is back!! This swim class is to help get your swimmer ready to go from swim lessons to a pre- or competitive swim team. Polish those swimming skills and learn how to make the leap from our rec pool to our lap pool.

This is a small class and spaces are limited.

Early Fall August 16th-September 20th (6 weeks)
Late Fall September 27th-November 1st (6 weeks)

Participants are welcome to register for both sessions. Registration opens for members on July 18th and non-member on July 25th, both online. Afterwards registrations can be taken directly by the Aquatics Direct at 831-438-1072 ex 104 or [email protected].

 

Parent and Me

Come join us and learn how to comfortably introduce your child to being in the water for the first time. The small pool is warm and toasty, and the mid-mornings are crispy and light. Spaces are still available for those who want to enroll for a three week session. Drop-ins are welcome.

Serious Tennis with Dave will have some slight adjustments to the starting times over the next month. July 12 & 14 along with July 26 & 28 will go 9:15-10:45 instead of the normal 9:00 time.

Summer Junior Tennis Camps registrations are still open

We have options for all levels of tennis players, from just beginning to the competitive advanced players. Our summer tennis camps will take place this summer Mon-Fri 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. This is appropriate for all levels, even just beginning! We will also offer a High Performance group geared for tournament and high school level players, which will take place 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

We will still be continuing our Saturday Toddler Tennis(ages 3-6) and Junior Rookies group (7+) from 11:00-12:00. This is a great opportunity to get kids of all ages started and improve their tennis skills!

imgTuesday Night Team Tennis

Summer session will begin again on 7/18. This will be similar to the last session and will be lots of fun. Come out and be a part of the Team Ian VS Team Jimmy match play! Registrations will be done weekly, and can be done online or in the clubhouse.

 

Pickleball Happenings!

imgIf you have not given pickleball a try yet, come out and see what the latest craze is about! We have paddles and balls you can use to try this super fun sport out. We are offering various clinics and fun events throughout the week as well.
