Black Friday Tennis Deals

imgHello members
Halloween just passed by and Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. Days are getting cooler and night time arriving sooner (don’t forget your clocks…) but there’s still plenty of good tennis weather to come in the next couple months. If you are playing on one of our Fall USTA teams, I hope you are enjoying your season and that your team is doing well. With this USTA season winding down, we will take this opportunity to invite you all to play in this year’s club championship. The event will take place on November 11, 12, 18 & 19. Look for our flyer in the club house or contact me directly for more details. Last year, we had close to 50 players participating and we hope as many will join this year.

Besides our club championship, we also have our Junior Holiday session about to start. The Holiday session takes place from November 6th to December 15th. We still some availability in most classes. Come and join us! We are also, bringing some changes to our Adult clinics with the addition of a cardio tennis class on Wednesday nights from 6-7pm. For full details on adult clinics, please check our monthly calendar online. Stay tuned! As we will add a new clinic in December dedicated to 4.0+ players…

With November comes the rainy season and Thanksgiving. With rain on the way, we will be acquiring some, needed, new rolling squeegees. Please make sure that you know how to properly use them to help with their longevity. If you are uncertain, ask one of our tennis professionals or one of our maintenance staff, they will be happy to help you.

Finally, there is no Thanksgiving without BLACK FRIDAY! Be on the lookout for special tennis deals on lessons, balls and re-stringing.

In the meantime, feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or suggestions you might have.

I will see you all on the courts

Cheers
Fred

Letter From our Director of Child Care

Holiday Sessions

November 1, 2017 –December 22, 2017

It is a pleasure working with your families at such a beautiful location. Children in our Premium Child Care children have been crafting, learning their ABC’s, 123’s colors and shapes, socializing and developing fine motor skills along the way. Our Nature Study class was a success with the children learning all about the rodents Squirrels, Rabbits and Mice. We had guest animal visitors and created some cute crafts learning about anatomy, habitats, food sources, defense and predators. At Parents Night Outs kids have been enjoying dinner poolside then fun crafts and games downstairs. Crafternnoons is in full swing with the children exploring a variety of mediums and creating striking projects.

As falling Autumn leaves turn to falling raindrops, come join us for one of our Enrichment Programs or Premium Childcare in our cozy Kidz Club Playroom upstairs and and Kidz Club Classroom downstairs. We are now an approved Ocean Grove Vendor. Join us anytime as the classes will be pro-rated.

Happily serving members and non members Pre-K, TK, Kindergarten Enrichment, Home Study, Afterschool and Half day Wednesdays for grades TK-5th grade.

Help us reach our goal of filling 2 barrels by November 19th, and get your name in our weekly raffle!

La Madrona World Series!

img10/23 thru 11/19

October 23rd we will begin our La Madrona World Series, a fundraising game, for all our members. Members will accumulate home runs through participating in actives in our tennis, swim and fitness departments and earn tickets into a weekly raffle. The game will run for 4 weeks and game cards can be purchased at our Club house at the start of each week. Each game card will be $5 and all proceeds will go to Second Harvest Food Bank. Members may receive a “FREE” game card each week if they donate a 1 bag of food. Our goal for the month will be to fill 2 barrels.

How to play the game:

  • Purchase a game card at the Clubhouse each week (or make a food donation to receive your “free” game card.)
  • The purchase of a card will provide you with one entry into the weekly drawing.
  • Take your card with you to each department when you participate in a class, take a private lesson, or do a 30 minute workout on your own to earn a “base hit”.
  • A staff member needs to mark the game card for each activity completed.
  • Earn 4 “base hits” (home run) each week to earn an additional entry into the weekly drawing.
  • “Grand Slam”- If you participate in one activity from each department (swim, fitness, tennis) within one week, you will receive 5 extra entries into the weekly drawing.
  • At the end of each week, turn your game card into the clubhouse so that all “runs” can be counted and added to the weekly drawing.
  • Every member who participates in the game will receive an entry into the grand prize drawing held at the end of the 4 weeks.
